Nomadic Art Camp

Kyrgyzstan

2011-2024

Nomadic Art Camp is an intensive art and cultural project in Kyrgyzstan founded and directed by Shaarbek Amankul. It brings together artists, writers, and curators to explore shared experiences across Central Asia through making, conversation, travel, and time on the land. The camp moves through varied landscapes and rural communities, creating space to exchange knowledge and develop collaborative relationships that can grow into longer-term projects, and exhibitions. Between 2011 and 2023, the Nomadic Art Camp invited participants from across the international community. In 2024, the program shifted its focus to building relationships with Native American artists from North America.
